Music should be bought to support the creators, music creation is a civic duty. It's not a job to get rich off by, but a job that should make an impact in society.
So it comes down to this: civic duty for minor pay or getting rich quick?
But don't get me wrong, you can get rich off music in the world of pirating, mashups, and creative common. You just have to be lucky or be really good. All that matters is how much exposure you receive.
