There is a lot of work in this space right - there is:

A Swarm of Angels - a project to fund, write, shoot and edit a dramatic film collaboratively;

The Echo Chamber Project - a collaborative documentary about the media's report on the lead up to the Iraq War

Stray Cinema - remix an experimental film shot by a group in London

Elephants Dream - an open sourced computer animation

and there are more (add them!)

What do you think are the atttributes necessary for a film to be open sourced?

Check out MakeMyMovieOnline.com. It has a lot of the elements of open source or crowdsourcing similar to ASOA.

XTIN Project is not all that Open in a lot of ways - I'm not looking for story or art suggestions like Matt is on ASOA, but when it's finished I plan for all the files to be on DVD and if people want to make their own version they can.
